FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE November 21, 2008 Contact: Yoleen Faerber: 541-633-9637 yoleo@email.com Blue Moon Marketplace: 541-382-1937 LOCAL ARTISAN RECYCLES OVER ONE TON OF USED CANDLE WAX; BLUE MOON RECEPTION PLANNED TO CELEBRATE MILESTONE Bend artisan Yoleen Faerber of Family Tradition Candles announces that she has recycled one ton of used candle wax. She has been using post-consumer, partially burned candles gathered from across Central Oregon to make new hand-dipped tapers, Shabbat and Hanukkah candles, hand-poured pillars and votives since 2006. Faerber emphasizes that it is important for consumers to purchase and use products made from recycled materials in order to complete the recycling circle, “otherwise you’re just sorting garbage,” she says. In order for recycling to work, there needs to be a market for recycled materials. Blue Moon Marketplace will host a meet-the-artist reception to celebrate Faerber’s milestone on Monday, December 8 from 4:00-6:00pm. Blue Moon Marketplace is located at 61 NW Oregon Avenue next to the Downtown Station Post Office, in the Centennial Parking Garage building. Family Tradition Candles can be found in Sisters at Donterra Gallery, and in Bend at Blue Moon Marketplace. In addition, Faerber will be showing her wares at the Sunriver Holiday Traditions Marketplace on November 29. For more information contact Yoleen Faerber, 633-9637, www.sustainableflame.com.
